Monasteries

High up in the large rock of Ostroška Greda, build against an almost vertical background, you can find the Monastery of Ostrog, dedicated to Saint Basil of Ostrog. The Orthodox monastery is one of the most frequently visited places in Montenegro. It represents the meeting place of all confessions: the Orthodox, the Catholics and the Muslims. According to the stories of pilgrims, by praying there, many have been cured and helped in lessening the difficulties in their lives.
The Moraca Monastery is one of the most monumental medieval monuments of Montenegro. It is situated in an extended part of picturesque canyon of the Moraca River. The monastery complex, built in 1252, consists of the cathedral Ascend of mother of God, the small church of Saint Nicolas and a building for accommodation.

Hotel island

Sveti Stefan (literally "Saint Stephen") is a seaside resort in western Montenegro, located 5 km southeast of Budva. It used to be a tidal island, but is now permanently connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus. In the 15th century the island was a fishermen's village. In the 1950s the last residents of the village were evicted, and Sveti Stefan was transformed into a luxury town-hotel. It is now the most exclusive resort on Montenegro's coast.

Kotor

Kotor is an old town in the heart of Bay of Kotor. Stunning scenery and many historical monuments attracts visitors to Kotor each year. Especially attractive is the old town of Kotor with many old stone houses and typical mediteranean style with narrow streets and lots of spirit.
